Planting a garden & Molly's 2nd Birthday

Jackson has been getting over his sinus infection, so we tried to lay low and keep it pretty low-key so he could get in his rest. He seems to have his energy back today and his nose wasn't running NEARLY as much as it has been this past week and 1/2 or so!! He is still on his antibiotics, so hopefully it will have run its course by the end of this week! It was his Cousin Molly's 2nd birthday on April 4th, so we went over to celebrate with her yesterday. They had a bounce house and lots of games. We had a lot of fun playing over at their house. That seemed to have drained him though, because he was quite moody and tired afterwards!!

Sunday April 11th

Mommy and Jack planted a mini garden in some pots today!! I want to get a ground garden going in the backyard, but we have to get a fence up to keep the dogs out. This will have to do until then, and hopefully we can keep them alive! Jackson is very excited to water his tomatoes and peppers everyday, and he sure had a ton of fun helping mommy dig in the soil!

Potty Time

As for this whole potty training thing, we haven't really been pushing it. Everything I've heard is that boys are always ready later than girls, closer to 2 1/2 and 3 yrs. Well, he has been showing us ready signs for a while now and he is just over 2 1/2, so I think (hope) he is about ready? We've had the little potty in our bathroom and he "tries" to go on it here and there, we will ask him if he needs to go and wants to try, and then we make a big deal about it when he seems interested. Daddy took him to the store a while back to let him pick out some big-boy underwear, he chose a mixed Disney pack with Cars, Nemo, Toy Story, etc. As of this last Friday he watched a potty time DVD at Grandma's. So over this weekend, he has been wanting to go, and is actually going non-stop when we've been home! Could be because we give him a "treat" afterwards and do a "pee-pee" dance?? I notice when he is running around in his big boy underwear he realizes "the feeling" of when he has to go and he will run and tell me "mommy, I have to go pee-pee!" If he is wearing his pull-up, I think he forgets because he has been used to wearing one now for so long. That's just my theory anyway. Before yesterday, he had only gone pee-pee in the potty. I was upstairs getting ready and he was downstairs with daddy. All of a sudden he had come up to me saying over and over "Mommy come downstairs, I poo-poo in the potty!" I acknowledged him, but really didn't believe it. He just kept on repeating it, so I finally went down with him to see, and low and behold- there was a poo-poo!! We called Daddy over and we all did the potty dance together- he was a proud little boy!! :)

Easter 2010

Jackson woke up to find The Easter Bunny had left him a basket at our house with some new fun toys. He got a new game-Memory, some number and alphabet foam pieces for the bathtub, a harmonica or a (harmomica) as he calls it, some spiderman toys, a couple books, eggs with candy.
We then went over to Grandma and Papa's and the Easter bunny left him a surprise there too! We had a delicious Easter Brunch and then Jackson got to have another egg hunt out back!! Lucky boy! We had a great Easter together and enjoyed our nice and relaxing day! :)

March Spring Break

March 27-April 4th
We started off our spring break by Jackson having his first sleepover with his Cousin Molly spending the night. He was so cute with her and showed her all of our bedtime routines, and was even going to give up his bed for her to use! :)

*Next, we had a playdate at Busy Bodies with some of mommies friends and Jackson's friends- Ava, Ryan and Jack. His favorite thing was the trampoline!

*Thursday we had an early Easter party at Lily and Ryan's house. We had fun making bunny baskets, Easter egg hunt, and making bunny cupcakes! We were definitely busy this week, and then Jackson came down with a little cold...which turned into a sinus infection. He hasn't been feeling the best for a little while now! He seems to finally be getting his energy back though!! Chase took him to his appointment and the Dr. asked if he had already been taking any meds., and Jack told the Dr. "I've been taking the orange and purple medicine", meaning tylenol and motrin. :) And when the Dr. came in, he greeted him by saying "Hi, I'm Jackson", which he does everywhere we go now. His vocabulary is getting so big!! We had a busy and fun week getting to spend lots of time together! I wish I didn't have to go back to work!!

We did some Easter art projects and colored some eggs. He loves to color, especially with markers!

Here is Jackson finding eggs for his basket we made :)

Such a big helper!

Jackson was helping Daddy put together his basketball hoop! Such a big helper, he was even reading the directions!

Getting Started

So...after 2 1/2 years, I finally jumped on the Blogging bandwagon and created one. :) I thought this would be fun to share with friends and family who want to watch Jackson grow and reach new milestones, while also sharing the things that are happening with our little family. I figured this could also help me be a little more organized by using it as a place to gather ideas on projects, recipes, coupons and bargains, arts & crafts, family fun activities, and really anything that I find interesting!! This is all new to me, so we'll see how this goes. I will try updating it maybe once a week to starting out.
